Public Present: 4 members of the public present. 
 
5.1.1 South Pender Island Local Trust Committee Bylaw No. 115 
Chair Luckham recessed the Regular Meeting at 10:10 a.m. to hold the Public Hearing.  
He read a prepared statement outlining the content, purpose, and process of the Public 
Hearing.  
 
Regional Planning Manager (RPM) Kojima provided an overview of the statutory process 
for advertising the meeting.  He noted the responses received from the referrals.  
 
Paul Weyer spoke in favour of the bylaw and noted that Moving Around Pender (MAP), 
of which he is a member, is also supportive of the Bylaw.  
 
Tara Parkinson spoke in favour of the bylaw and noted the benefits for improved safety 
for pedestrians and cyclists.  
 
John Chapman thanked the South Pender Island LTC for their commitment to the 
project and noted that they have made quick progress in comparison to other 
neighbouring LTCs.  
 
Chair Luckham made three calls for additional oral and written submissions.  
 
No further submissions were made.  
 
Chair Luckham closed the public hearing at 10:17 p.m.
