South Pender Island Local Trust Committee Minutes of Regular Meeting April 3, 2018 ADOPTED Page 1 of 7 South Pender Island Local Trust Committee Minutes of Regular Meeting Date: Location: April 3, 2018 South Pender Fire Hall 8961 Gowlland Point Road, South Pender Island, BC Members Present: Bruce McConchie, Acting Chair Wendy Scholefield, Local Trustee Staff Present: Robert Kojima, Regional Planning Manager Shannon Brayford, Recorder Regrets: Peter Luckham, Chair Public Present: There were 3 members of the public in attendance. 1. CALL TO ORDER By general consensus, Trustee McConchie was appointed as Acting Chair. Acting Chair McConchie called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. He acknowledged that the meeting was being held in territory of the Coast Salish First Nations. 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA It was recommended that the following amendments be made: Addition of item “11.2 Church of the Good Shepherd” New business “13.1 Appointment of LTC Liaison to Plumper Sound Protection Association” be removed. By general consent the agenda was approved as amended. 3. TOWN HALL AND QUESTIONS Tara Parkinson requested information on the planned designation of the Church of the Good Shepherd as a Heritage site and any response of the Anglican Church to that plan. Paul Weyer, identifying himself as a member of the South Pender Island Historical Society, provided information on the designation process. Trustee Scholefield provided an overview of the information provided to her by representatives of the Historical Society and the Anglican Church. A discussion was held regarding the history of housing availability on the island, and the Trustees acknowledged the importance of the matter to the community. 4. MINUTES 6.1 Adopted Local Trust Committee Minutes Dated February 20, 2018 It was noted that the minutes of February 20, 2018 were adopted by Resolution Without Meeting (RWM). 6.2 Section 26 Resolutions-without-meeting Dated March 2018 For information. 6.3 Advisory Planning Commission Minutes None 7. BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES 7.1 Follow-up Action List Dated March 2018 Regional Planning Manager (RPM) Kojima provided an overview of the list. By general consensus, it was agreed that item 11.1 Heritage Conservation shall be removed from the list. 8.
